Men sentenced for Masinenge murder
They killed Sihle Maphinda (28) in December 2013.
TWO men were sentenced to 10 years’ imprisonment each, in the Port Shepstone Regional Court last Tuesday.
On the night of December 20, 2013 Sihle Maphinda (28) of Masinenge informal settlement was murdered. Margate SAPS received information and arrested six men in connection with the murder.
The men appeared in Ramsgate Magistrate’s Court and the case was transferred to Port Shepstone Regional Court. Four of the men turned state witnesses. Sphamandla Mayoh Ntozakhe (25) and Bongisisa Nongcawula (26) remained.
Last Tuesday both men were sentenced to 10 years’ imprisonment for the murder.
Margate Cluster Commander, Brigadier Morris Moodley commended the decision by the justice department.
The investigating officer was Detective Sergeant Bazil Naidoo.
