MK regional member shot dead in Ugu region

The news has come as a shock, just two days before Local Government Elections are due to take place.

Lastborn Shazi was shot dead at his home in Mtwalume last night.

Shazi was an MKP Ugu Regional Organiser.

It is believed that unknown men came to his home last night while he was busy in a virtual meeting.

They knocked on his door and when he opened they opened fire, killing him.

Spokesperson for the party, Nelisiwe Nxumalo, said party members, family and friends were in disbelief that he is dead.

“We had a long day yesterday, we were very busy and he was on the ground. None of us thought that we would sleep with such news.”

Nxumalo explained the party was still to meet with the family, to offer condolences and establish more details.
