Veteran Umkomaas police officer bid farewell
He is wished well in the next chapter of his life
Umkomaas Saps has officially bid farewell to Captain Mandla Andries Mtshali who recently retired after 38 years of loyal, disciplined, and distinguished service to the nation.
Throughout his career, Mtshali established himself as a beacon of integrity and institutional knowledge. Armed with a National Diploma in Police Administration, his exceptional commitment to law enforcement was recognised at the highest level, earning him five prestigious medals from the Saps National Office.
He served in Newcastle, Jeffrey’s Bay, Thornhill, Hibberdene, Swartberg, Durban South Operational Coordination Unit and KwaMakutha before Umkomaas.
While his operational achievements are vast, Mtshali’s greatest legacy lies in the countless officers he mentored, the teams he strengthened, and the profound institutional knowledge he leaves behind to inspire the next generation of Saps members.
Umkomaas Saps management, visible policing teams and support staff thank him for his service and serving with integrity.
He is saluted and wished well in the next chapter of his life.
