Margate Primary athletes qualify for round two

Of the 11 selected athletes from Margate Primary, three qualified for the next round.

THE Ugu Sports and Leisure Centre hosted the annual district cross-country championship last Thursday. Schools from different circuits sent their best athletes and 11 Margate Primary pupils were selected.

Iviwe Cenga and Bongeka Ncane both achieved first place in their respective events and Addiswa Soyingwe was awarded second place, qualifying for the next round at UKZN to be held on August 30. Well done to all athletes who competed in this first round.

Practice is well under way for the annual interhouse athletics meeting and preliminary trials were held this week Monday. Both the junior and senior interhouse athletics will be held on August 22. Parents are urged to make every effort to attend and support athletes.
