PUPILS from Nkonka High were recently invited to attend a chess workshop, held at kwaMaveshe community hall in Murchison.
Bheki Msomi, from the Moses Kotane Chess Club spoke about the interesting game. More than 15 pupils attended and all seemed to have enjoyed it.
Thembi Khawula from Hibiscus Coast Municipality said there would be a competition to follow.
“The reason why we are here today is because we are going to have a competition where different schools from the South Coast will be competing,” she said.
She added that playing chess is good for young people because it always stimulates the mind. “It’s especially beneficial for those who do mathematics and physical science at school,” she said.
