FOUNDER’S Day was last week’s major event in the school’s amphitheatre to celebrate Creston College turning 19 years old. The junior, senior primary and college phase choirs all sang at a special appearance from the Estate Choir.
Marimba bands also played after which two of the schools’ alumni, Dr Shaylin Pillay and Cheryse Faddy addressed the audience. The morning’s events were rounded off with a doughnut each for pupils and staff. Thank you to all at Creston who contributed to the ‘fillabag’ cause.
Creston’s senior primary and college phase recently had the chance to listen to Monique Gladding, who, although schooled in SA, was a member of the British diving team for over ten years.
An 11-time British national champion, as well as European and world medallist, Monique was a member of the 2012 British Olympic team. After assembly with Monique, gr 9 pupils had a full workshop to discuss issues around high performance and success.
