PORT Shepstone High’s girls and boys recently played soccer against Amanzimtoti High and the PSHS first team won 3-2, U16A drew 2-2, U15A drew 1-1 and the U14A team won 1-0. The Sheppie girls’ first team won 2-0, U16A won 4-2 and the U14A team lost 2-3.
The Sheppie Sevens rugby team played a tournament at Clifton College and reached the plate semi-final, but lost to Hilton College 12-19.
At the recent girls’ soccer interdistrict trials, 22 of the school’s soccer girls were selected to represent South Coast teams in four age groups.
Sheppie’s soccer boys competed in four age groups and all teams produced favourable results. The best of these were the
U16 boys, who won the tournament by beating Glenwood, Northwood, Westville, Kloof and Crawford NC.
Reece Booker, Taine Booker, Lwanga Methusi (U15 boys), Ryan Elliott (U19 boys), Kelly van der Berg (U15 girls) and Sinethemba Mbatha (U19 girls) have been selected to represent KZN.
