MERLEWOOD Primary pupils were treated to a visit by El Davido’s Circus and were kept enthralled by the many stunts, especially the ‘Wheel of Death’. Representatives from Broadway Sweets also attended on the day and issued all pupils with a ‘Stumbo’ sweet pack.
Learning and teaching is back to normal after the recent protest action of local residents, due to poor service delivery. To assist with time lost at school, a catch-up programme is in place, however, it is hoped that the constant water disruptions at school will soon be resolved.
The school is extremely happy to have five pupils who were injured in a recent school bus accident return to school and are grateful that they only sustained minor injuries. Protection Services must make themselves more visible before and after school at all local schools, as it is common knowledge that vehicles transporting pupils are in many instances not roadworthy and many of the drivers are ‘questionable’.
Pupil admission for 2015 is under way and parents are encouraged to apply soon as spaces are limited.
