SHEPPIE High’s ensemble concert takes place in the school hall on September 5. The ensemble is well-known on the South Coast for its outstanding repertoire of music and recently performed at The Tatham Art Gallery in Pietermaritzburg for the second time. The group also pre-recorded a repertoire for the Imizwilili Choral Music Show for SABC 1 and took part in the prestigious Hilton Arts Festival last year.
The music is largely based on the popular ‘acapella’ style with clever arrangements and plenty of variety. The concert will start at 6pm and tickets are available at the school payments office or at the door at R20 for adults and R10 for scholars.
The boys’ first soccer team won 2-0, first team girls won 4-0 and U16 girls won 3-2 against Scottburgh High last week. They then went on to play against Durban North College and the boys’ first team won 2-0, U16 boys won 7-0, U14 boys won 10-0, first team girls won 4-0 and U16 girls won 5-1.
At a recent tournament, the girls’ first soccer team came third out of 14 schools and at the boys’ interdistrict trials tournament, 21 Sheppie soccer players took part.
