Update: Nudist beach still under discussion
A final decision will be taken on September 30.
AFTER receiving numerous emails from the public regarding the proposed nudist beach, the Hibiscus Coast Municipality has held consultation meetings with sections of the community which do not have access to the internet.
Last week the municipality visited Gcilima and KwaNzimakwe to hear the views of the community as they stay close to Mpenjati beach which is the proposed area for the nudist beach.
“We have received so many comments from the public, some are for the beach while others are against it,” said HCM municipal manager Max Mbili.
HCM spokesman Simon Soboyisa said HCM management would meet on September 1, to analyse the submissions. He added that the matter would then sit in the community safety portfolio on September 9.
“Exco will discuss the nudist beach on September 16, and council will make the final decision on September 30,” concluded Mr Soboyisa. READ MORE ON THE NUDIST BEACH HERE.
