IT has been a dramatic two weeks for pupils and teachers at Woodgrange Primary with a novel initiative in the form of a drama competition, started at the school for all different phases.
Congratulations to gr 1 pupils who won their category with a delightful rendition of ‘The Three Bears’. Teacher Nokzola Mjweni did a sterling job with the best costumes, raising the bar for others.
Intermediate and senior phase pupils also impressed and congratulations go to teacher Khululiwe Khumalo and the gr 6 pupils for their play that perpetuated the plight of women in a patriarchal world.
The highlight of the entire competition was the gr 7 pupils with make-up, mini skirts, high heels and fancy wigs that transformed the boys into drag queens.

The adjudicator, Nerissa Reddy from Umkomaas, expressed her amazement at the level of talent amongst pupils. She was thanked by acting principal Dr Maliga Chetty for supporting Woodgrange, and Dr Chetty also expressed her gratitude to Niksha Sevnaran from Umzinto for brightening the gr R classroom with paintings of colourful cartoon characters.

Parents are reminded that registration for gr R pupils takes place from September 8 to 12.
