Tarred roads are the talk of the town

This is good news for motorists.

THREE South Coast roads were officially opened by the Hibiscus Coast Municipality last Wednesday.

The first handover took place at Oslo Beach where HCM mayor, Cynthia Mqwebu, officially cut the ribbon to mark the completion of Allesund Road.

The revamping of this road cost the municipality R 3, 112 861.20. The project included the reconstruction of new layers and the improvement of the drainage system. The municipality, through its appointed engineer, Naidu Consultants revamped a distance of 700 metres.

Mayor Cynthia Mqwebu also handed over Winston Avenue in Margate, which cost a sum of R 2 145 736.50. Winston Avenue was upgraded from a gravel road to a tarred one. The construction company also improved the drainage system on this road.

The last was the opening of Ogle Road in Ramsgate, where the municipality used its internal personnel to fix the road. The project cost was R 1 195 198.8 covering 420 metres in length and 5.5 metres wide.
