IZOTSHA Primary had a busy week with various athletics events. Senior primary held its athletics last Tuesday and there was a vibrant spirit as Jaguar, Panther and Leopard rivalled each other. Panther won with 287 points overall and also won the ‘spirit trophy’ for the most enthusiastic supporters.
Leopard placed second with 264 points and Jaguar third with 243 points. Kai Hielckert, Cara Schlebusch (U10), Zamo Nyawose, Wesley Dressing (U11), Ava-Mae Lilje, Ross Klusener and Marko Thom tied (U12), and Emma Prinsloo and Bradley Botha (U13) were all age-group winners.
Junior victrix ludorum was awarded to Zamo Nyawose, junior victor ludorum to Kai Hielckert, senior victrix ludorum was a tie between Ava-Mae Lilje and Emma Prinsloo, and senior victor ludorum went to Bradley Botha. Congratulations to Kai Hielckert, who was the only pupil to break a record, achieving this in the U10 800m event, with a time of 2:45. Panther house also won at the fun-filled athletics meeting hosted by junior primary.
Port Shepstone Senior Primary hosted the recent LSC athletics event where eleven Izotsha pupils achieved colours.
