‘Give us a another chance’

Council has issued assurances that the Pavilion is on track for December.

SCOTTBURGH businesses have appealed to holidaymakers not to judge the town on the current lack of beachfront facilities and to give it another chance over the festive season.

This out of concern that many regulars to Scottburgh had voiced their irritation this week and had vowed never to return.

All local stakeholders agreed that there was no point in crying over spilled chips by dredging up the beachfront Wimpy saga again… as long as the municipality could give assurances that the Pavilion would be fully operational by December.

Umdoni speaker Sykes Naidoo did just that. He told the Mail that “come hell or high water” the Pavilion would be back on track.

He said that officials had informed council that both the pub and the restaurant would be occupied and trading by December 1.

According to a tender register posted on the Umdoni website on September 22, two companies applied for the pub: * Qdo Lami CC and S J South Holding; and three for the restaurant: * Qdo Lami CC, S J South Holdings and Nkulu General Trading. No further details about these concerns were available at the time of writing.
