A harmonious day on the hill

The money raised was used to sterilise 18 animals.

MANY pet owners and their furry friends  recently went along to support National Animal Week and St Francis Day at Harmony Hill Animal Hotel in Sea Park.

The fun-filled day consisted of a walk for pet owners, a swim at the dam and a mystery treasure hunt. Tea, treats and boerwors rolls were also on sale.

All funds raised went to Harmony Hill, Hibiscus Animal Welfare and Four Paws and a Tale.

Penny Taylor, co-founder of Harmony Hill, said about 50 people and 30 dogs supported the event, and it was wonderful to see so many new faces.

Penny said new friends and contacts were made, and the rescue dogs exercised to the point of exhaustion, but they loved it.

Two dogs were fostered by Olivia Symcox, while another two dogs found a new home together and a puppy started his future life with his new owner.

“A small profit was made, which has been used to sterilise 18 animals,” she said.

Penny said they would definitely repeat this on an annual basis, however next year would be a much bigger occasion.
