THE 2014/2015 Executive Council of Learners (ECL) attended their annual camp at Anerley recently. The full weekend programme opened with an official address by Lions’ club president Alastair Warman. Activities included team building exercises, various lectures on leadership theory, communication, goal setting, innovative engineering, people-to-people relationships and conflict management.
Presenters comprised past district governor Denis Meyer, Peter McKillen, acting headmaster Dale Salotto, Pastor Trevor Downham, Damien Williams, Kerry McKillen, Sharon Smith and Lions club member Jeff Smith. Guest speaker at the gala evening was regional magistrate Johan Bester, who motivated and inspired everyone.
Port Shepstone High School’s aim is to instil a desire in the heart of each pupil to make this world a better place by reaching out to the community. In the true spirit of Ubuntu, gr 8 pupils took up the cause and donated clothing and food and packed everything into colourfully decorated boxes. Donations were delivered to the local Red Cross Society where they will be distributed to the needy.
