PS Secondary salutes top achievers
Port Shepstone Secondary obtained a 99,3 percent pass rate.
THE awards function hosted at Port Shepstone Secondary last Friday evening took centre stage with a glittering presentation for the school’s top achievers of 2014. Once again the school managed to maintain its usual high standards which impeccably matched the incredible pupil results.
The spotlight first shone on the internal examination awardees, who graciously received their awards in front of proud parents and teachers. Thereafter the attention shifted to the stars of the NCS examination, with Port Shepstone Secondary featuring at the helm of the Ugu district once again by obtaining a 99,3 percent pass rate, as well as the highest pass rate for life sciences.
Pupils Suhail Gangat and Ishq Rooplal Ramsaroop featured second and fifth in the district respectively and proudly accepted their awards to thunderous applause. The function culminated with the dux award going to Suhail Gangat.
Suhail was one of five pupils to obtain seven As. Elisha Sayers was nominated as sports boy for excelling in athletics and volleyball, and Lydia John walked off with the sports girl award for excellence in swimming, volleyball and cricket.
