‘So much beauty is sadly neglected’

No litter is strewn around even where there were hundreds of people partying.

DEAR Editor,-

After returning from a recent cruise and upon landing at the airport, it was an absolute pleasure seeing roads with no potholes, looking like a crazy jigsaw. All verges were cut and clean.

No litter strewn around – even when we were out at the harbour where there were hundreds of people partying. Definitely a mindset regarding not dropping rubbish around! Yes – no one does it! Everyone was very helpful and nothing was too much trouble.

Where were we? Italy or the Greek Islands? Oh no – it was our very own Cape Town.

The South Coast has so much beauty, but is so neglected and I am unable to understand why one province can do everything so incredibly well and with such enthusiasm and ours is neglected. Or maybe I can understand.
