Southcity houses go all out at galas

Spirited war cries, colourful banners and interesting face paint was the order of the day at both galas.

TWO sets of sibling swimming sensations took top honours at the Southcity College interhouse gala last Thursday. Jeandre and Ruan Michau were voted senior and junior victors ludorum and Denita-Sue and Britney Pieterse were junior and senior victrix ludorum winners.

Judah House walked away with the winning house award, the relay trophy and the Tabloids Shield. The Spirit trophy went to Asher House.

The preparatory gala followed on Friday with proceedings starting at 8.30am in bright sunshine, despite some dubious weather forecasts.

All 3 houses competed for the top spot in a fiercely-contested competition and never gave up until the very end. Judah House won the Spirit Cup and Asher House eventually took final honours.

Southcity Christian School invites all prospective parents to visit the school this coming Saturday (February 14) at the open day. The presentation starts at 9am.
