GRADE 6 and 7 Southcity Preparatory pupils visited Sweetdale camp last week, where they experienced a different kind of education – outdoors. Pupils took part in a variety of activities that tested them both physically and mentally, whilst teaching them how to solve problems and lead and work as a team.
Some conquered their fear of heights on the canopy zip-line and high ropes, whilst others learnt how to use a compass to find their way. From night walks to abseiling, confidence courses and slippery slides, these pupils had a great adventure!
Last Friday, Southcity held a ‘Crazy Sock Day’. Many pupils went to a great deal of effort and made it very difficult for winners to be singled out. There was a large variety of novelty socks ranging from chess sets to baking utensils, and fish to Christmas trees.
