MERLEWOOD pupils travelled to The Playhouse in Durban to watch a live performance called ‘Uniting the youth through dance’. The play promoted social cohesion by teaching pupils from different races or religions to work together. Dance plays an important role in forming relationships and creating bonds with one another.
Pupils thoroughly enjoyed the play and picked up a few dance moves in the process. The second part of their excursion was a boat ride at Wilson’s Wharf, where they were given the experience of a lifetime, sailing on a boat and seeing huge ships up close. The school thanks parents for the support and teachers for the role that they played.
