Volleyball cup returns

The tournament has now become the annual curtain-raiser to the Port Shepstone volleyball season.

THE much anticipated Neela Raman memorial knockout volleyball tournament will take place at the Marburg Sports Complex this Saturday.

“Many teams take this opportunity to showcase new players, scout new talent and most importantly, shake off the pre-season rust,” said Prenesen Naidoo from the Port Shepstone Volleyball Association.

Existing teams as well as new teams are invited to enter this knockout tournament. The tournament will cater for a competitive section and a social non-competitive section.

Local religious bodies, corporate teams and other sporting clubs are invited to enter the non-competitive social section, where the emphasis is on fun and learning the sport.

All interested teams are urged to register between 11.30am and 11.45am, as the first games will start at midday. The entry fee is R150 for senior teams and R100 for teams made up of only scholars. Teams and players are also reminded that the registration for the 2015 league will also take place on the day.

League teams must ensure that all forms and fees are handed in before the commencement of the 2015 league. The first round of the league starts on Thursday, March 12.
