THE hugely popular annual Paddock Fishing Competition will be taking place from March 27 to 29.
A total of 40 fully-stocked dams will be available for the weekend, as well as more than R70 000 worth of prizes.
There will be many lucky draws, including a main cash draw of R4 000 and two cash draws for R1 000 each.
Tickets for the fishing cost R60 each. Each ticket will count as an entry for the lucky draws, so the more tickets you have, the more chance you have to win.
Armbands (to gain access to the club and fishing at the dams) cost R20 (over 18) and R10 (under 18). Camping is R200 for the weekend per tent or caravan.
The briefing will be at the Paddock Farmers’ Club on Friday, March 27 at 7pm. No pets allowed. For more information and tickets, contact 083 2935265.
* In other fishing news, Jono Hunt said things out at sea hadn’t been great. “The guys are struggling to find fish, especially with the strong current at the moment,” he said.
There have been some wahoos and marlins around plus some bonito on the reef. “There have been a few tuna about but they have been few and far between,” he said.
