Lizzie and Kim spice things up
The two young women produced some sparkling golf.
PORT Shepstone Country Club hosted the 60th anniversary of the Cecily McKenzie tournament, which ties in well with the club’s own centenary celebrations.
The event is held over two days, with teams playing a betterball on the first day and a greensomes the day after.
Provincial player Lizzie Currie and the fast-improving Kim Strauss managed to clinch the trophy on 80 points on a countout from Debi Stewart and Yzelle Greyling.
The clubs that took part were Port Shepstone, Southbroom, Margate and Kokstad.
Jenny Hulley won the Jeanette Wahl Trophy at Port Shepstone Country Club for the year.
It is awarded to the player with the most monthly mug wins during the year.

Mike and Thys win Andrew Mentis trophy

MARGATE Country Club hosted the annual Southern Natal Andrew Mentis tournament last Saturday.
It was won by Mike Williams and Thys Bothma on 49 points, on a countout from Piet Ludick and Barry Oehme.
The event serves as a fund-raiser for the Nomads and is always very well supported.

RICHARD Derman and Urs Diethelm won the comp at Southbroom Golf Club last Wednesday on 46 points.
They were one ahead of Geoff Skelton and Barclay Shearer, as well as Bob Thomas and Malcolm Greenland.
The women’s comp saw Jan Germs and Maeve Mullane win on 42 points, edging out Karen Bridgeford and Lee Mutch.
Saturday’s alliance was won by by Jim Cook, Gerald Fitzgerald, George Haynes and Bob Thomas on 93 points, on a countout from George Haswell, Roel Germs, Terry Shepherd and Dave Chambers.
In the women’s section, first prize went to Ursula Spoerri, Alexander Huber, Shelley Myers and Allyson Thomas on 91 points.
