Cricket underdogs pull off surprises

The youngsters are showing much promise.

THE Southern KwaZulu-Natal U11 cricket team held their capping ceremony at the Port Shepstone Country Club recently.

They took part in the recent KwaZulu-Natal Primary Schools U11 Cricket Festival.

The boys played two 30 over matches per day.

SKZN lost the first four matches, but improved with each game, winning the last two.

They played as a team and their confidence soared, which saw them beat a previously unbeaten team in the last match of the tournament.

Needless to say, team spirit was at a high.

The boys outdid themselves.

From being the tournament underdogs, they displayed great courage and, through pure determination managed to pull off two brilliant wins.

They gained wonderful experience which can only stand them in good stead in the future.
