IZOTSHA Primary pupils took up an Easter egg collection for St Martin’s Children’s Home with an Easter hat or bonnet competition. An overwhelming number of eggs were collected and delivered to St Martin’s in Oribi. Pupils were able to play together using sports equipment that had been donated by Izotsha last year and they thoroughly enjoyed playing soccer, netball, swing ball and badminton. Mark Smith brought his stacking games and a pleasant morning was enjoyed by all.
At the recent interschool individual gala held at Creston College, Izotsha swimmers performed exceptionally well against Creston, Southcity, Port Edward, PSSP and Suid-Natal Primary. Tayne Rudling (U10), Kai Hielckert (U11), Josh Parry (U12), Ava-Mae Lilje (U13) were age-group winners and Kai Hielckert took the junior victor ludorum.
Gr 4 pupils created a museum in the main foyer of the school with many interesting, old, historical articles and artefacts brought from home, displaying articles together with their research.
At the cricket match against Margate, the U11A team won by 97 runs and the U13A team won by 9 wickets. James Coull bowled a maiden wicket and two maiden overs. The U11A team won by 24 runs with Reece Murray scoring his second 50 this season at the cricket against Port Edward. The U13A team won by three wickets. Chris Massey scored 43 runs, Kaleb Thomas 29, Gary Massey 24 and Joshua Jacobs 19. Chase Britz took three wickets, Zack Thiele and Kaid Morsink two wickets each and James Coull, one wicket. Both junior and senior A teams performed exceptionally well this season to win every match played.
The Izotsha equestrian team now boasts four riders, namely Arabella Lewis, Katelyn Nortje, Rachel Upfold and Caitlyn Upfold, who all excelled at the recent SANESA Qualifier 2 held at Shongweni.
