Get ready for Harley heaven!
The seventh annual Africa Bike Week takes place in Margate from April 23 to 26.
THE countdown has begun for one of the biggest and best biking events in South Africa, the seventh annual Africa Bike Week organised by Harley-Davidson, in Margate from April 23 to 26.
The event is open to all motorcycle brands, their riders and even enthusiasts who don’t yet have a bike. There will be all sorts of exciting activities for the whole family at this mega motorcycling extravaganza that is expected to attract thousands of visitors.
Some of South Africa’s most popular bands, deejays and personalities will keep bikers rocking well into the night. Guest entertainers include Just Jinjer, Dilana, Jack Parow, Rene Mabotha, Angie Khumalo, DJ Mixwell, Beyond Vocal, Loki, Monark, Clint and Co, Owen Kay, Taxi Violence, Georgia, FLO, Shadow Club and Saving Silence.
Other Africa Bike Week highlights will include everything from two trail-bike shows to a mass ride, Harley exhibitions, Kings of Custom Bikes, demos, local traders and an ‘aftermarket village’.
As well as a variety of entertainment there will be the usual Ride-In Bike Show – any biker can enter his or her cool customised bike in one of several categories.
The mass ride, open to all motorcycles, will leave the Shelly Centre roof on Sunday April 26 at 10am. The thrilling symphony of sound as thousands of bikes start up and head off together is one that should not be missed. This year, to address congestion and safety issues, the number of motorcycles accessing the Harley Village area (Beach Road only) will be limited.
