AT THE onset of 2015, Woodgrange-On-Sea Primary pupils were very excited to learn that term one would be dedicated to the soccer sports code. The ‘Olympian’ and ‘Spartan’ teams selected mixed gender groups from all grades and competed against each other throughout the term.
It was extremely exciting to see even gr R pupils being competitive on the field and girls were definitely not intimidated. Gr 3 pupil Tia Newell is a potential Banyana Banyana player and should be closely monitored.
By the end of the term, it was evident that the Olympians would be outright winners and they are congratulated. Special thanks to sportsmaster Mthokozisi Myende for refereeing all matches.
Principal Dr Maliga Chetty said that the school would love to dedicate term two to netball, but unfortunately, the two steel netball poles were stolen over the Christmas holidays. Dr Chetty appeals to any Good Samaritan out there to consider sponsoring two netball poles for the school, so that pupils can enjoy playing netball again. All teachers are wished a peaceful holiday.
