A 19-YEAR-OLD woman who was nine months pregnant was stabbed to death, allegedly by her boyfriend, after a heated argument in Nositha near Margate on Monday this week. Her unborn child did not survive.
“Silungile Nxumalo from Mvutshini, was stabbed by her boyfriend at their home in Nositha at about midnight,” said police spokesman Captain Gerald Mfeka.
“According to a witness the mother-to-be and her boyfriend had an argument. He stated that the woman was stabbed and the boyfriend fled the scene.”
The woman was rushed to a nearby clinic but died on the way.
The boyfriend (23) was arrested a few hours later. He was charged with murder and appeared in the Ramsgate Magistrate’s Court. The case was postponed for further investigation.
