Hitch-hikers survive robbery/rape
The couple were hiking from Durban to Port Elizabeth when they came under attack in Marburg.
A hitch-hiking couple was attacked, robbed and the woman raped on the toll road near Marburg on April 4.
The man (46) and his wife (42) were thumbing a lift home to Port Elizabeth when they were accosted by the men at about 7.30pm.
Police spokesman Captain Vincent Pandarum said the men trussed up the husband with shoelaces and then raped his wife in front of him. They then made off with the couple’s cellphones, rings and clothing.
The men were wearing dark hoodies, caps and of one them had a grey shirt.
