LAST week was an exciting week at Izotsha Primary with rugby, hockey and netball against Suid-Natal Primary. The U11A rugby boys won their game 25-10 and the senior A hockey girls lost theirs 1-0. The senior A rugby boys put up a good fight with strong defence – Fynn Weber and Alex Harrel each scored a try and Kaleb Thomas kicked a conversion. The senior netball team played hard, but unfortunately lost the game.
The school is very proud of pupils who have made it into sporting teams of a higher level, namely Alex Harrel – selected for the U12 Southern KZN rugby team; Kaid Morsink and Kaleb Thomas – U13 Southern KZN rugby team; Sarah Rolfe, Keara Dunford, Zamo Nyawose and Kelly Taute-Kotze – selected for the Ugu District U12 girls’ hockey team; Zama Ngubane – U13 girls’ team; Marko Thom, Thomas Schnackenberg, Kaid Morsink, Fynn Weber, Richard Bormann and James Coull – Ugu District boys’ U13 team; and Bob Engelbrecht, Thean Prinsloo and Kai Hielckert – U12 boy’s team.
There will be a ‘Proudly South African’ civvies day on Friday (8th) as well as a gr 7 cake sale. Grade 7 pupils are working hard at collecting money towards the refurbishment of the school admin block.
