PORT Shepstone Primary stands with the entire country in condemning the xenophobic attacks that have plagued South Africa over the last few weeks. In an effort to groom and nurture responsible future citizens, a special assembly was held at the school during April.
The school was fortunate to have Hibiscus Coast mayor, Cynthia Mqwebu address pupils on Freedom Day, stressing the need to guard and protect the freedom achieved in 1994. She highlighted the fact that we are all ‘African’, irrespective of race and country of origin. She appealed to pupils to respect and love all people as brothers and sisters. PSP would like to thank the mayor for taking the time to address pupils, despite her busy schedule.
Parent interviews were held during April and all parents were afforded an opportunity to discuss their children’s progress and partner with teachers to achieve the desired academic goals of pupils. Parents were urged to monitor homework and assessments on a regular basis and thanked for attending the parents’ open day.
