PARENTS are reminded that PSSP will be hosting its annual Winter Sports Day this Saturday, May 16. A total of 16 schools will be taking part and all are welcome.
PSSP gr 5 pupils had a wonderful time on excursion last week. They were awed by the size of the crocodiles at the Riverbend Crocodile Farm and amazed at the variety of snake species in South Africa.
They also toured a banana plantation and listened to a most informative talk about the production process of bananas. Bellevue Park was great fun with an exciting nature hunt and loads of challenging obstacle courses and mechanisms.
Volleyball teams took part in a tournament held at the Marburg Sports Complex last Saturday. Although they lost most matches, they played exceptionally well and enjoyed the competitive experience.
The U13 netball girls were on top form when they won their match 14-6 against Margate Primary last Tuesday. In other fixtures against Margate Primary, the U13A soccer boys didn’t have it that easy. Although Sanele Shoba put on a man-of-the-match performance, poor defence resulted in the PSSP team being defeated 4–1. The U11A team outclassed Margate by 5 goals to 1.
In two very closely contested matches last week, the senior girls’ and junior boys’ hockey teams narrowly lost their matches against Margate. Both teams played very well and are hard at practice to ensure that they perform better in future matches. Congratulations to Keytin Vorster on achieving Ugu District colours for swimming.
