Call to vote in Hibiscus Coast by-elections

Ward committee members are to be elected at a public meeting.

VOTERS are being called to make their mark in various ward committee by-elections within the Hibiscus Coast Municipal area in the next few weeks.

Since the start of the current term of council in year 2011, there have been a number of vacancies created in some ward committees.

As applicable, legislation and municipality policy prescribes that ward committee members are to be elected at a public meeting.

The following by-elections will be held:

* Thursday, May 14, ward 3 in Betania at 9am.

* Thursday, May 14 ward 3 at the Shelly Beach Ski-Boat Club at 5pm.

* Monday, May 18, ward 19 at the Uvongo Town Hall, at 5pm.

* Tuesday, May 19, ward 6 at the Margate Museum at 5.30pm.

* Wednesday, May 20 ward 12 at the Port Shepstone Secondary School at 5pm.

* Wednesday, May 20, ward 17 at the Marburg Library Activities Room at 5.30pm.

* Thursday, May 21, ward 16 at the Southport Library at 5pm.

* Tuesday, June 2, ward 18 at the Port Shepstone Civic Centre at 5pm.
