Budding scientists emerge at Creston

The Science Expo provides an opportunity for pupils to showcase their immense talent.

CRESTON can be proud that there are many budding scientists at the school and it was very encouraging that gr 6 pupils had full representation at the annual Science Expo for the first time.

Once again, this year’s expo offered a variety of construction type projects and chief judge, Jane Cruikshank, was impressed with the high standard of some projects which could have a commercial spin-off with a few adjustments or improvements.

The robotics presentation, science magic show and uShaka Marine World presentation were welcome additions to the programme and were well received by pupils and teachers alike. These presentations were quite interactive and pupils took part enthusiastically. Presenters were experts in their fields and answered many questions that pupils directed at them.

Last week, junior primary pupils were lucky to have a visit from Delvin Allan, vintage motor vehicle restorer. The gr 2 boys and girls were delighted to see a 1928 Model-A Roadster pickup because this vehicle experience forms part of the transport theme they are studying.

Senior primary celebrated #Rally4Rhinos day last Friday. This occasion marks a national attempt to focus energies into preserving this wonderful and magnificent beast. The U13 hockey girls drew all of their games at the PSSP winter sports day last weekend.
