RA Engar wins recycling competition

Pupils laughed and shed a few tears, but thoroughly enjoyed the entire exercise at Sweetdale.

THE Hibiscus Coast Municipality hosted the provincial launch of the Department of Environmental Affairs’ KZN Youth in Jobs ‘Waste Simply Clean’ campaign recently and RA Engar Primary proudly walked off with first prizes for the schools’ essay and artefacts from waste categories.

Gr 7 pupils enjoyed a fun three-day, two-night excursion to Sweetdale Camp recently. The outing was exciting because it taught pupils about team building, leadership and supporting each other, with emphasis on safety, commitment, respect and critical thinking.

Even though this was a challenging and gruelling three days that tested pupils’ strengths and weaknesses, it built self-confidence and developed communication skills which helped pupils conquer their fears of height, speed and water. Thanks go to all teachers who organised and accompanied pupils, making this a memorable trip for senior pupils.
