PORT Shepstone Junior Primary’s gr 1 pupils enjoyed dressing up as a character of their choice to help bring the alphabet alive last Friday.
The alphabet teaches written English in a fun way and develops phonics, listening and speaking skills, as well as early creative writing.
Pupils are encouraged to listen to stories and ask questions about the letters, their shapes and sounds. It leads them to take part in storytelling and to explore the imaginations.
Above all, pupils will have discovered that reading, writing and spelling can be fun. Top marks to those parents who assisted their children with the extremely creative and beautiful costumes.
Congratulations to gr 3 pupils Simthandile Ndimande, Sisanda Malishe, Trinity Gouveia, Phethokuhle Shozi, Aphelele Nzimande, Ayesha Seedat, Yuvanya Pillay, Ayanda Duzane, Mbongeni Cele, Jade Clifton and Jude Emanuel who have been selected as school monitors.
