PSHS boys’ hockey teams played against Kloof last week. The first team drew 0-0, the U16s drew 1-1 and the U14s lost 4-1. Sheppie played netball, hockey and rugby against Kokstad College last week and the first rugby team won with a score of 8-7, U16s won 24-0, U15s won 15-5 and the U14s won 22-5. The girls’ hockey teams also played fairly well with the first team drawing 0-0, the second team won 5-1, U16s lost 0-2 and the U14 team won 1-0. The netball first team won 31-9, the second team won 22-8, U16s won 33-0 and the U14s won 11-5.
Rugby players Banele Zithumane and Asa Mdudi have been selected to attend the final KZN rugby trials at Woodburn Stadium. The cross-country third league held at Gelofte High last week saw some promising results from Sheppie athletes and U15 athlete Emihle Madikizela came fifth out of 100 runners and U19 athlete Njabulo Cele came second out of 42 runners.
