Laugh out loud with the Lions

Comedian, Aaron McIlroy and the band, Rubber Duc will share the limelight.

BUY your tickets soon – or better still book a table for eight – to see two class acts at the Lions’ ‘Laugh Out Loud’ comedy evening, at the Lions’ SAB Entertainment Tent at Port Shepstone Country Club on Thursday, July 9.

Providing the laughs at this fabulously funny annual Lions’ Show opening evening will be KwaZulu-Natal’s popular actor and comedian, Aaron McIlroy. A former Port Shepstone High School head boy, Aaron always receives a warm welcome and sustained applause when he performs on the South Coast. He has a number of successful shows to his credit and has been a highly respected performer for many years.

Riding the airwaves at the moment is the South African band, Rubber Duc. Since hatching two years ago, this new band has taken the South African music scene by storm – and somewhat by surprise. Its first single, ‘Ain’t Nobody Got Time for That’ hit the charts at full flight and peaked at the number two spot on 5FM and East Coast Radio. It made the top 10 on several other radio stations.

Starting out as a trio consisting of Nick Jordaan, Brendan Campbell and Sheldon Sham, the Ducs have grown not only in reputation, but also in size, Amiel Gopal has just joined them, adding spice to their quirky and unique sound, which they describe as “folk-swing-hop”.

Tickets for the show are R200 per person or R1 600 for a table of eight. This includes the show and a delicious supper. Tickets are available from Rene at 039 6820258. Proceeds go to charity so local business people are encouraged to book a table of eight to treat their staff.
