Margate Primary celebrates African culture

The gr 1 girls’ hockey team won one of their matches 6-1 at the PEPS sports festival.

MARGATE Primary celebrated Africa Day in great style with pupils attending school in cultural outfits and singing cultural songs. They also learned and sang the African Union anthem and painted bright, colourful pictures.

The school took part in ‘Tekkie Tax’ day last Friday and all money collected was handed over to hospice fund-raising coordinator, Beatrice King.

Grades 1, 2 and 3 took part in the sports festival held at Port Edward Primary last Saturday. An exciting and successful time was had by all, especially the gr 1 girls’ hockey team, who won one of their matches 6-1!

Gr 1 pupils went on a visit to The Mercury Hibberdene Children’s Holiday Home recently and were treated to a day of fun activities and wonderful treats.
