Merlewood Primary pupils enjoy coffee and a movie

Pupils made their own firelighters, which were tested at a huge braai last Friday.

MERLEWOOD Primary’s grade 2 pupils were treated to a visit to the movies at Shelly Centre and for many, it was a first time experience. Pupils thoroughly enjoyed the screening of Cinderella and applauded at every exciting moment. Gr 5 pupils visited Beaver Creek Coffee Farm and besides the learning experience, food was plentiful and pupils ended the day with a wonderful picnic.

Appreciation is extended to the Port Shepstone Child Welfare for including gr 7 pupils in their Child Protection Week programme. In line with the natural science curriculum, pupils made their own firelighters which were tested at a huge braai last Friday. The school is happy to report that the firelighters work and are very eco-friendly!

Formal examinations are scheduled to start on June 8 and pupils are busy with revision.
