ISLAMIC School hosted an emotionally-charged grandparents’ day last Saturday as grandparents of grade 8 pupils listened to their grandchildren pay tribute to them.
The elderly folk were moved from tears to cheers before getting pampered for the day. This programme forms part of the Social Responsibility section of Life Orientation and sponsors are all thanked for their kind contributions. Thanks to Rabia Bux for coordinating the programme.
The school congratulates all pupils who excelled at the AMS KZN athletics meeting held in Durban last Saturday and thanks Shuaib Fareed for coordinating the event and accompanying pupils.
Imran Desai (U17 400m), Muhammad Desai (U15 shotput), Ridhwaan Bux (U17 shotput) and Aadil Desai (open shotput) are all commended for achieving first places.
Channel Islam International’s popular anchor cleric Mufti Abdul Kader Hoosen (popularly known as ‘Mufti AK’) visited the school last week to give pertinent advice on the importance of acquiring knowledge. The informative talk ended with a question and answer session.
