Khuzwayo was found lying in an open filed in the Mehlomnyama area. He had stab wounds to his upper body.

On the same day, a 22-year-old woman reported to police that while she was walking home, she was attacked by a man known as Cele who stabbed her, but she managed to break free and ran away.
