THE two men arrested for the murder of an unidentified man discovered on the national road at Wilson’s Cutting on May 24 appeared in Izingolweni Magistrate’s Court last Friday.
Stephen Barnard (39) pleaded guilty to the murder and will remain in custody, while Dirk Pretorius (46) was granted bail.
It was heard that, while the men were driving, an argument broke out between Barnard and the victim. Barnard is believed to have stabbed the man. Pretorius was driving at the time.
The victim, who has not been identified yet, was found with multiple stab wounds in the neck and back. Anyone who may know his identity is asked to contact Izingolweni police station at 039 6341022.
The case was postponed to June 17.
