On behalf of the governing body, staff and pupils, principal Kanthan Appalraju extends his condolences to the Mbatha family.
She started her teaching career at Frankland Primary in 2004 and was redeployed to PSSP in 2006 where she taught gr 4. She joined the school hostel in 2008, taking on the responsibility of duty teacher and served as hostel coordinator during 2013/2014 in the absence of a hostel superintendent.
Nompumelelo will be remembered for serving PSSP with loyalty and dedication over the past 9 years and will be sorely missed at school and at the hostel. A special assembly was held at the school last Friday to pay tribute to her. Her funeral service was held at her family home in Mtwalume last Saturday.
There was a good turnout of parents who took advantage of the opportunity to meet with teachers last Thursday afternoon. The sport programme has taken off early and the U13 boys took part in the ward soccer tournament at Port Shepstone Primary last Saturday.
The annual interhouse cross-country is scheduled for August 6. School photographs will be taken on August 5 and pupils interested in purchasing the package must make a payment of R25.00 to the class teacher before then. Monitor selection for the second semester is in the final stages and parents of selected pupils will be informed. The final monitor induction will take place next Friday, August 7.
