Uvongo man robbed at gunpoint

The man was forced to lie on the ground while his home was ransacked.

A UVONGO man (28) was robbed at gunpoint in his Kenmuir Road home last Friday  at about 6pm.

“When the homeowner arrived home and was approaching his front door, he was hit on the head,” said police spokesman Captain Gerald Mfeka.

“He was held down by one of the armed men and told to stay on the ground or he would be shot. He heard the man cocking the firearm,” said Capt Mfeka.

“One of the men remained with the homeowner while the other three ransacked the house. The robbers loaded the stolen property, including two television sets, a laptop, a tablet and bank cards into a dark blue car with no registration plates,” he added.

No arrests have yet been made.
