THE annual drama competition at Woodgrange Primary was one of the most amazing events of the year so far. Principal Dr Maliga Chetty sets high standards and is not easily impressed, but was delighted by the choreography, stage decor, props and the variety of topics ranging from child abuse, the importance of reading, bullying at school, to name a few. What was most impressive was how well gr R Zulu pupils spoke English.
Sweady Chetty, retired principal and former teacher at the school, and Vis Pillay adjudicated and commended pupils for their brilliant performances, providing sage advice on areas that could be improved.
The foundation phase competition was tight and gr 3 won, beating gr 1 by one point. Senior phase and intermediate saw a tie between gr 6 and 7 and after deliberation, the gr 7 class emerged as final winner.
Parents are reminded that gr R to 7 registration is open and closes at the end of October.
