THE sporting rivalry between Marburg Secondary and Port Shepstone Secondary continued recently with both schools battling it out in a series of sporting codes. The tournament is played on a home and away basis with Sheppie Secondary hosting the deciding return leg.
Marsec’s girls’ volleyball and netball teams emerged victorious and the volleyball boys narrowly lost their match. Tug of war was introduced this year and the school proved too strong, pulling their way to victory in both boys’ and girls’ sections.
The soccer match was the highlight of the day with Marsec hoping to defend the title they won last year. Marsec came into the match after a 2-1 home win and secured victory with a 2-0 away win, to be declared overall winners of the derby.
