Lights, camera, action for Ugu film Festival
Everyone is invited to attend the première at Margate Cinema tomorrow night.
THE stage is set for this year’s annual Ugu Film Festival, which is taking place from tomorrow (Thursday) to Sunday, September 13.
Everyone is invited to attend the première at Margate Cinema tomorrow night, to view the opening film ‘Ayanda’, directed by Sara Blecher and co-produced by Terry Pheto. The film, which received a ‘Special Award’ in LA, takes a deep look at what it is like for a girl to grow up without a father.
Daily free workshops and seminars will be held at Spiller’s Wharf. These will be facilitated by the crème de la crème of the film industry, such as former generations star Xolile Tshabalala and Zenande Mfenyana, who is popularly known as Noluntu.
For those who also love music, a ‘Music Opening Night’ will be held at Backline Nightclub this Friday, September 11. Music lovers will be entertained by Zakwe, Bhar, DJ Sox, DJ 101 and DJ Qhawe, as well as local artists, with guest appearances by Zenande Mfenyane, Lwandle Ngwenya and Xolile Tshabalala.
