ALL pupils at Hibberdene Academy have started collecting items for the imminent Santa Shoebox project, as well as continuing their everyday collection of cans for the hungry and also of bread sealers. In celebration of Spring Day last week, pupils made beautiful, fun hats to wear to school in exchange for R2 each, which will go directly to the school feeding scheme.
Surprisingly, even those who did not wear hats donated money. The school tries to instil the value of giving to those who have less than themselves, and so regularly contribute to the church ‘pantry’.
